Insulation Series MLV Barriers + Ceiling Series Panels | E-Commerce Fulfillment Sorting Center, Frankfurt, Germany

Project Background
This 5,800 sq m e-commerce fulfillment sorting center in Frankfurt houses automated sorting lines, packing stations and equipment rooms. Continuous broadband noise from cross-belt sorters, conveyor systems and ventilation fans exceeded DIN workplace noise limits, interfered with on-site communication and put warehouse staff at risk of over-exposure. The project required modular industrial-grade acoustic solutions that could be installed around existing sorting lines without full operational shutdown.
Acoustic Solution
Modular mass loaded vinyl (MLV) sound barriers from the Insulation Series are installed along high-speed sorting lines and around equipment enclosures. The 3kg/m² ultra-dense polymer barriers deliver up to 27dB STC per single layer, blocking direct airborne noise transmission to operator workstations. The modular design supports reconfiguration as fulfillment layouts change. High-density inorganic fiberglass acoustic panels from the Ceiling Series are fully laid across the sorting hall to control overall ambient reverberation. The dense, non-shedding surface resists warehouse dust and supports regular cleaning, meeting industrial hygiene requirements.
Project Outcomes
- Workstation noise levels reduced by 41%, meeting DIN occupational health exposure limits
- On-site verbal communication clarity improved by 43%
- Installation completed during off-peak night shifts with zero operational disruption
- All products meet EN 13501 Class A fire safety standards
