Project Background

This 3,200 sq ft specialty veterinary referral hospital in Boston includes 12 treatment rooms, a surgical recovery ward and a client waiting area. Original thin partitions and hard clinical surfaces caused clear inter-room sound leakage. Barking animals, treatment equipment noise and consultation conversations easily carried between rooms, worsening animal stress and compromising client privacy. The project required wipeable, hygienic acoustic materials suitable for animal care environments, compliant with US commercial healthcare codes.

Acoustic Solution

All treatment and recovery rooms are lined with full-height fabric wrapped acoustic panels from the Fabric Series. Built around a high-density Owens Corning fiberglass core delivering NRC 0.85–1.0, the panels use medical-grade stain-resistant flame-retardant fabric that supports daily wipe-down disinfection. They absorb internal reflections, eliminate flutter echo and cut airborne sound transmission between rooms to reduce animal stress and protect consultation privacy. Panels are custom fabricated in the factory to exact room heights, with a neutral matte finish matching the clinical interior design. All materials use low-VOC adhesives suitable for enclosed animal care environments.
