Wood Wool Ceiling + Polyester Fiber Boards | Boutique Fashion Experience Store, Los Angeles, USA

Project Background
This 2,800 sq ft boutique fashion experience store in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, integrates display zones, fitting rooms, a café lounge and pop-up event space. The original high-ceiling space with polished concrete floors, full-height glass windows and hard display walls caused severe reverberation during peak hours. Customer chatter, background music and café equipment noise overlapped heavily, creating a harsh shopping atmosphere that weakened the premium brand positioning. The project required natural-texture acoustic materials matching the minimalist brand aesthetic, with fire and eco certifications for commercial retail spaces.
Acoustic Solution
Full-ceiling cement-bonded wood wool acoustic panels from the Wood Wool Ceiling Series are installed across the main display and café zones. The fine, uniform light-grey wood wool texture delivers NRC 0.80–0.90 broadband absorption while blending seamlessly with the industrial minimalist interior. The dense cement-bonded finish resists scuffs and dust, supporting regular retail cleaning routines. Feature walls and fitting room perimeters are clad with 100% recycled polyester fiber boards from the Eco-Friendly Series. E0 grade formaldehyde-free and custom color-matched to the brand palette, the panels absorb mid-high frequency speech noise and boost fitting room privacy. All materials are factory cut to exact project dimensions to minimize jobsite waste.
Project Outcomes
- Peak-hour ambient noise dropped by 34%, meeting premium retail acoustic comfort standards
- Fitting room sound privacy improved by 41%
- Average customer dwell time increased by 22%
- All materials meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety standards
