Eco-Friendly Series Polyester Boards + Ceiling Series Panels | International School Early Childhood Wing, Singapore

Project Background
This 2,100 sq m early childhood wing of an international school in Singapore includes 14 classrooms, activity halls and play corridors. Original hard wall surfaces and high corridor ceilings caused excessive classroom reverberation and poor speech intelligibility. Young children had difficulty following teacher instructions, and inter-class sound leakage disrupted adjacent lessons. The project required child-safe, eco-friendly, impact-resistant acoustic solutions meeting international school green building standards.
Acoustic Solution
Classroom walls are fitted with 100% recycled polyester fiber boards from the Eco-Friendly Series. E0 grade formaldehyde-free with soft, impact-resistant surfaces, the panels deliver NRC 0.85–0.95 absorption, reduce inter-class sound transmission and are safe for high-contact early childhood environments. Custom soft colour palettes match the school’s child-friendly interior design. Hall and corridor ceilings are fitted with high-density fiberglass panels from the Ceiling Series to control overhead reflections and reduce overall ambient noise in circulation spaces. All materials meet low-VOC indoor air quality requirements.
Project Outcomes
- Classroom reverberation time reduced to 0.7–0.9 seconds, meeting early education acoustic standards
- Teacher speech intelligibility improved by 42%
- Inter-class sound leakage significantly reduced
- All materials support the school’s green building certification goals
