Ceiling Series Acoustic Panels | Precision R&D Laboratory, Singapore

laboratory acoustics

Project Background

This 3,200 sq m precision electronics R&D laboratory in Singapore includes clean research rooms, equipment chambers and office support zones. Constant-running testing equipment, ventilation systems and precision instruments generate continuous broadband noise. Noise interferes with measurement accuracy and experimental results, and long-term exposure poses occupational health risks to researchers. The cleanroom-grade environment requires acoustic materials that are dust-proof, non-shedding and easy to clean, compliant with international lab standards.

Acoustic Solution

Full laboratory ceiling coverage of high-density inorganic fiberglass acoustic panels from the Ceiling Series. The dense, non-textured hardened surface delivers NRC 0.90–0.95 broadband absorption, controls overhead reflections and reduces overall ambient noise. The non-shedding surface resists dust accumulation, supports regular wipe-down cleaning and meets ISO 14644 cleanroom requirements. Partial equipment zone walls are fitted with perforated acoustic panels with mineral wool backing to assist mid-low frequency equipment noise control, with smooth easy-clean faces suitable for lab hygiene management.

Project Outcomes

  • Main research zone ambient noise reduced by 40%, meeting precision lab acoustic standards
  • Instrument measurement stability improved notably
  • All materials meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety and cleanroom hygiene requirements
  • System maintains stable performance in constant temperature and humidity environments
