This project was the acoustic design of the tasting and reception area of a craft brewery. The space adopts an industrial bare-top design, with exposed concrete walls, metal pipes and stainless steel brewing equipment, resulting in strong sound reflection. During peak tasting hours, visitor conversations, glass clinking and background music echoed, the environment was noisy, and the communication experience was poor. The client required that the acoustic transformation must retain the original rough industrial brewery style.

Cement-bonded wood wool acoustic panels were selected as the main ceiling and partial wall acoustic material. The natural rough wood-cement texture of the panels is highly consistent with the industrial, original and rough style of the brewery, and no additional decorative finish is required, which perfectly retains the factory temperament of the brewing space. The open fiber structure achieves an NRC of 0.80–0.90, which effectively absorbs scattered noise in the tasting area and reduces overall reverberation, making conversations between guests easier.

In addition, wood wool panels have Class A fire resistance and excellent moisture and oil stain resistance, adapting to the complex environment of brewing and catering spaces. After the project was completed, the overall noise level of the tasting room decreased significantly during peak hours, guests can communicate normally without raising their voices, and the relaxed and casual industrial atmosphere is more prominent. The natural texture of the panels also enhances the spatial texture, becoming a highlight of the brewery’s brand image.
