Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panels for Children’s Rehabilitation Center Acoustic Project

This project focused on acoustic and environmental protection upgrade for a children’s rehabilitation center. The original space had hard painted walls and tile floors, with strong sound reflection. Noises from children’s activities, equipment operation and walking easily overlapped, creating a noisy environment that affected children’s attention and rehabilitation training effect. As a space for vulnerable groups, the client had extremely strict requirements for indoor environmental protection indicators.
The project team selected 100% recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels as the core wall treatment material. The panels are formaldehyde-free, non-toxic and low-VOC, fully complying with the highest indoor air safety standards for children’s spaces. With an NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, they effectively absorb mid-to-high frequency scattered noise, reduce indoor reverberation, and create a quiet and focused rehabilitation environment. Soft macaron color matching was adopted to fit the lively and warm spatial atmosphere of the children’s center.
The lightweight panels were installed by glue pasting, with no dust and noise during construction, which did not affect the normal operation of the center. After completion, the overall background noise of the space decreased by 35%, and all environmental protection testing indicators were far superior to national standards. Rehabilitation teachers reported that children were more focused during training, and the incidence of emotional irritability decreased significantly. This case fully proves that polyester fiber acoustic panels are the ideal acoustic material for children’s public spaces that take into account safety, environmental protection and noise reduction.
