Full-Band Custom Acoustic Build for Private Music Production Studio

This private music production studio was built for an independent producer, intended for composing, vocal recording and critical mixing work. The original empty room with standard drywall produced strong standing waves and unbalanced frequency response, resulting in muddy low end, harsh high frequencies and inaccurate mixing judgments. Standard off-the-shelf acoustic kits could not meet the precise frequency control and personalized visual style required by a professional production environment.
We designed a full custom acoustic treatment system tailored to the room dimensions and usage scenarios. A combination of grooved and perforated resonant panels addresses 250Hz–1000Hz mid-low frequency standing waves based on Helmholtz resonance principles, while fabric-wrapped and polyester panels handle mid-high frequency reflection and flutter echo. We calibrated panel placement and thickness through acoustic simulation to achieve a flat, balanced frequency response ideal for mixing and recording. Custom dark fabric finishes and wood veneer details were selected to match the producer’s preferred creative atmosphere, creating a focused, professional studio feel without the clinical look of generic treatment.
Upon completion, acoustic testing confirmed the room meets professional studio standards for reverberation time and frequency uniformity. Recorded vocals sound clean and three-dimensional, and mixing decisions translate reliably across different playback systems. The producer noted a significant reduction in revision rounds and a more intuitive, immersive creative workflow. The project demonstrates how precision-customized acoustic design can deliver reference-level sound performance while shaping a personalized, inspiring creative environment.
