This project was the acoustic optimization of treatment rooms in a high-end private dental clinic. The original treatment rooms had hard wall surfaces and strong sound reflection. The sharp noise of dental drills and equipment operation was easy to cause anxiety and tension in patients, and even aggravated dental phobia. The clinic hoped to reduce the noise perception of patients through acoustic transformation, relieve psychological tension, and at the same time meet the strict fire protection and environmental protection standards of medical places.

Fabric-wrapped acoustic panels were selected for full-wall acoustic treatment of each treatment room. The high-density acoustic core is wrapped with medical-grade flame-retardant fabric, with an NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, which can effectively absorb the sharp high-frequency noise generated by dental equipment and weaken the indoor reverberation superposition. The soft fabric texture can also create a warm and relaxed space atmosphere, relieve the patient’s nervous mood, and assist in improving the treatment experience.

All fabric materials meet Class A fire protection standards and low-VOC environmental protection requirements, adapting to the high-standard hygiene and safety requirements of medical places. After the transformation, the noise perceived by patients during treatment was significantly reduced, and the feedback of dental anxiety decreased by 41%. The soft and warm wall surface also improved the overall high-end sense of the clinic, and the patient satisfaction and recommendation rate were significantly improved.
