This 450㎡ small cross-border e-commerce fulfillment warehouse is located in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with sorting conveyor belts, packaging stations and a small goods storage area. Conveyor systems, packaging machines and barcode scanners generate continuous noise, leading to long-term noise exposure for warehouse staff above local occupational health guidelines. On-site verbal communication between team leads and pickers is also difficult. The operator required a flexible acoustic solution that could be adjusted as warehouse layouts change with seasonal demand.

Tailored Acoustic Strategy

Modular damping industrial sound barriers are installed along high-noise conveyor lines and packaging station perimeters, with a single-layer STC rating of up to 27dB. The multi-layer damping structure blocks direct propagation of equipment noise to staff workstations. The modular design supports repositioning and adjustment as warehouse layout changes, with impact-resistant, easy-to-clean surfaces suitable for industrial warehouse environments. The main packing zone ceiling adds partial high-density fiberglass acoustic tiles to reduce overall ambient reverberation. All materials meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety standards, meeting Canadian industrial building requirements. The system is installed during off-peak overnight shifts with zero disruption to daily fulfillment operations.

On-Site Results

Ambient noise in staff working areas falls within the allowable range of local occupational health standards. On-site verbal communication clarity improves significantly, and team leads no longer need to raise their voices to communicate across the floor. The modular barrier system has been reconfigured twice during peak seasons to match layout changes, maintaining consistent noise control performance.
