This invitation-only private cigar and whiskey lounge caters to an exclusive membership base, designed for relaxed conversation, spirit tastings and private business discussions. The space features dark wood paneling, leather furnishings, stone accents and high coffered ceilings, evoking a classic, refined club atmosphere, but the hard, resonant surfaces caused noticeable echo and reverberation. During peak evening hours, conversation noise stacked into a loud, restless environment that clashed with the intimate, discreet nature of a private members’ club. The lounge required a high-end acoustic solution that would blend invisibly into the traditional luxury interior, with no visible industrial acoustic products.

We engineered a fully custom fabric-wrapped acoustic panel system, integrated into the wall paneling and ceiling coffers throughout the lounge. High-density acoustic cores deliver NRC 0.85–0.95 full-frequency sound absorption, eliminating harsh echo and softening ambient conversation noise to create a comfortable, intimate acoustic environment. We worked with the club’s design team to select a premium textured wool blend fabric in deep burgundy and charcoal tones, custom-tailored to match the existing upholstery and millwork palette for seamless visual integration. All materials meet strict Class A fire safety standards for private assembly spaces, with durable, stain-resistant finishes appropriate for a hospitality environment.

After the renovation, ambient noise levels dropped dramatically even at full capacity. Members can hold conversations at natural volume across the room without straining, and private discussions remain discreet and unintelligible to nearby tables. The acoustic treatment is entirely invisible to guests, preserving the lounge’s timeless, luxurious atmosphere while delivering tangible comfort improvements. Membership renewal rates and guest satisfaction scores have both increased, with members frequently citing the calm, comfortable atmosphere as a key benefit of the club.
