Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panels for Pet Hospital & Boarding Center Acoustic Upgrade

This project focused on acoustic and environmental protection upgrade for a medium-sized pet hospital and boarding center. The original space had hard tile walls and floors with strong sound reflection. Barking, equipment operation noise and staff communication easily overlapped, creating a stressful noisy environment that aggravated animal anxiety and affected the work efficiency of veterinary staff. As a space for sensitive animals, the client also had strict requirements on indoor air quality and formaldehyde emission.

The project team selected 100% recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels as the core wall treatment material. The panels are formaldehyde-free, non-toxic and low-VOC, fully meeting the high environmental protection requirements of animal medical spaces. With an NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, they effectively absorb mid-to-high frequency noise such as barking and equipment sounds, reduce overall space reverberation, and create a calmer environment that helps relieve animal anxiety. Warm and soft color matching was adopted to fit the friendly and reassuring spatial atmosphere of the pet hospital.

The lightweight panels support quick modular installation and are scratch-resistant and easy to clean, adapting to the daily use scenario of pet spaces. After completion, the overall background noise of the hospital decreased by 33%, the restlessness of boarding animals decreased significantly, and the working environment of veterinary staff was also improved. This case proves that polyester fiber acoustic panels are an ideal acoustic solution for pet medical and care spaces with both environmental protection and practical performance.
