Medical Grade Fabric Acoustic Panels | Vancouver Premium Dental Clinic Privacy Upgrade

Project Challenge
This 760㎡ premium cosmetic dental clinic in downtown Vancouver includes 8 treatment rooms, a sterilization area and a calm patient waiting lounge. Original lightweight partition walls and hard tile finishes cause clear inter-room sound leakage — high-speed drill noise and suction equipment sounds carry between rooms, increasing patient anxiety, and consultation conversations can be overheard from the hallway. The clinic requires wipeable, disinfectable acoustic materials that meet healthcare hygiene standards, while fitting its calm, high-end interior aesthetic.
Our Solution
We installed full-height high-density fiberglass core medical-grade fabric acoustic panels in all 8 treatment rooms, with an NRC rating of 0.85–1.0. The outer face uses medical-grade stain-resistant flame-retardant fabric that stands up to daily wipe-down disinfection with clinical cleaners. The panels effectively cut airborne sound transmission between rooms, reducing patient stress from equipment noise and keeping consultation conversations private. In the public waiting area and corridors we used perforated acoustic panels with mineral wool backing, NRC 0.80+, with smooth dense easy-to-clean surfaces to control reverb in public zones.
All materials meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety standards and ultra-low VOC emission requirements, fully compliant with North American dental clinic norms. We built out room by room in phases, keeping the clinic partially open the whole time.
Project Results
Inter-room sound leakage dropped by an estimated 43%, and patient pre-treatment anxiety scores dropped notably thanks to reduced equipment noise from adjacent rooms. Patient satisfaction scores for visit comfort are up 35%, and speech privacy now fully meets local healthcare privacy compliance standards. All materials hold up perfectly to daily clinical disinfection routines with no performance drop.
