Fiberglass Acoustic Ceiling Tiles for Large Exhibition & Convention Center Hall

Project Challenge
A major convention center upgraded its main exhibition hall to host larger trade shows, conferences and corporate events. The existing mineral fiber ceiling provided minimal sound absorption. During busy exhibitions, overlapping crowd chatter, booth presentations, PA announcements and equipment noise created a loud, chaotic acoustic environment. As a high-capacity public venue, the hall also required the highest standards of fire safety, dimensional stability and long-term durability for ceiling materials.
Solution
The entire exhibition hall ceiling was replaced with high-density inorganic fiberglass acoustic ceiling tiles. The material features inherent Class A fire resistance with zero flame spread and low smoke emission, fully complying with strict international public assembly building codes. The interconnected porous structure delivers an NRC of 0.90–0.95, effectively absorbing the complex mixed noise typical of large exhibition spaces. The tiles offer exceptional sag resistance, moisture stability and mold resistance, maintaining consistent performance under variable crowd and climate conditions.
Results
Peak-event ambient noise across the exhibition hall dropped significantly. Public address announcements are now clear and intelligible throughout the space without echo distortion. Exhibitors report easier communication with visitors, and overall event comfort is greatly improved. The durable, low-maintenance ceiling system also reduces long-term facility management costs for the convention center operator.
