Project Challenge

This premium co-working space in central Berlin specializes in dedicated remote work pods and small team booths. Floor-to-ceiling glass partitions were chosen for visual openness and natural light, but they create almost no speech privacy. Zoom calls and team conversations carry easily between pods, disrupting deep work and risking confidential client discussions. The space caters to professional remote workers and small agencies, so acoustic privacy is a core retention feature — but any solution had to maintain the clean, modern glass aesthetic.

Our Solution

We lined the interior of every work pod and meeting booth with high-density fiberglass core fabric wrapped acoustic panels, NRC 0.85–1.0. The panels absorb internal reflections to eliminate flutter echo and improve call clarity inside each pod, while also reducing sound transmission through glass gaps. We selected a soft light-grey matte fabric finish that matches the minimalist office palette, so the interiors look clean and professional with no visible acoustic treatment. On shared feature walls between pod rows, we added matching fabric panels to bring down overall ambient reverb across the whole floor.

All materials carry EN 13501 Class A fire certification, formaldehyde-free with ultra-low VOC emissions for all-day indoor air quality. Lightweight modular installation was completed on weekends over 9 days.

Project Results

Pod-to-pod sound leakage dropped by an estimated 41%, and speech privacy now meets professional client confidentiality standards. Remote call clarity inside pods improved significantly, with members reporting far fewer audio issues on work calls. Monthly pod retention rate is up roughly 21%, and acoustic privacy is consistently cited as the top reason members renew.
